Sakura Matsuri @ BBG

The cherry blossom esplanade at Brooklyn Botanical Garden will have all its 220 cherry trees in full blossoming mode! Lovely place to celebrate spring and appreciate nature’s beauty (if you have no allergies…).

Sakura Matsuri is a “NYC’s “Rite of Spring” event, marking its 27th year with over 60 events and performances celebrating Japanese culture and the blossoming of BBG’s cherry trees”. May 3–May 4, 2008, is when it is all happening – a great chance to experience nature/cultural event.

This is a beautiful timelapse video – created by Dave Allen, BBG’s Web Manager, from over 3,000 digital photos, one taken every 3 minutes from April 18 to April 26, 2008, of Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s famed Cherry Walk.
