Well, it turns out that the turnout for this much “anticipated” trip was less than half of the class. Lovely. But seriously, we did have a lovely time frolicking in the woods, all eight of us with Marcha, our ecology professor and also an avid nature person. The experience was doubly enhanced when the intermittent rain and shine was a non-stop contest. We happily studied the bridge architecture, the plant species, and to top it all off in the most fantastic way, an encounter with a real snake!
